Unitree A2 – Industrial-Grade Quadruped Robot Dog
The Unitree A2 sets a new standard for industrial and research-grade quadruped robotics. Designed for rugged environments, autonomous inspection, logistics, and field research, it combines raw mechanical power, intelligent control, and open developer access — making it one of the most capable quadruped platforms available today.
Overview
Built from high-strength aluminum alloy and engineering plastics, the A2 is engineered for durability, flexibility, and precision. Weighing about 31 kg (no batteries) or 37 kg (with dual hot-swappable batteries), it achieves an optimal balance between payload capacity, runtime, and agility.
Why It’s a Game-Changer
-
Superior Load & Endurance:
Carries up to 25 kg while walking and supports 100 kg when stationary. Achieves up to 20 km (~5 hours) range unloaded or 12–13 km (~3 hours) when fully loaded.
-
Unmatched Agility:
Reaches speeds of up to 5 m/s (11 mph), climbs 45° slopes, steps over 30 cm obstacles, and clears 1 m heights with ease.
-
360° Perception:
Equipped with front and rear 3D LiDAR, an HD camera with illumination, and AI-enhanced vision for terrain awareness and real-time navigation.
-
Rugged & Weather-Ready:
IP56 chassis with IP67-sealed critical components ensures performance in −20 °C to +55 °C, rain, or dust.
-
High-Power Actuation:
Twelve PMSM motors deliver up to 180 N·m torque, enabling high-speed, stable motion, jumps, and self-balancing maneuvers.
-
Developer-Ready Platform:
Includes 8-core CPU, optional Intel i7 compute dock, full ROS / ROS 2 SDK, OTA updates, and multiple I/O ports — giving researchers and engineers total development freedom.
